Adolescent & Teen Therapy at Sana

A Space to Be Heard, Understood and Empowered

The teenage years are a time of incredible growth, self-discovery, and transition—but they can also bring unique pressures. Between school expectations, social dynamics, identity development, and planning for the future, it is easy for adolescents to feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stressed.

Our teen therapy services provide a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space where your teen can express themselves freely, process complex emotions, and build practical tools to navigate life with confidence.

What to Expect

Therapy for teenagers looks different than child or adult therapy. We tailor our approach to meet teens where they are, treating them with respect and autonomy while keeping their overall well-being at the center:

  • Initial Consultation: We begin by meeting with parents (and often the teen together) to discuss background, concerns, and hope for therapy.

  • Establishing a Safe, Authentic Connection: Trust is essential. We focus on building a genuine therapeutic relationship where your teen feels respected and heard without judgment.

  • Collaborative & Goal-Oriented Sessions: We work with your teen on issues that matter to them—whether that is managing anxiety, handling relationship issues, building self-esteem, or navigating academic stress.

  • Skill Building for Real Life: Sessions focus on practical strategies, including emotional regulation, communication skills, stress management, and problem-solving techniques they can use every day.

For Parents: Partnering for Your Teen’s Growth

Watching your teenager struggle can be difficult, and finding the right balance between giving them space and offering support is tough.

We want to reassure you that your involvement remains vital. While therapy provides your teen with a confidential safe haven to build trust and speak candidly, we actively work with you to support your teen's journey. We offer guidance on how to support your teen at home, keep communication open, and provide updates while honoring your teen's confidentiality.

(Note: Safety is always our top priority. If there are any concerns regarding safety or harm, parents are informed immediately.)
